Books with Pastels covers that are perfect for Spring

Happy Spring for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere! Spring is the perfect season for those of us who crave picnics in the park and the sound of chirping friends. If you are like me, the thing you look forward to the most during spring is the pastels! Pastel eggs, pastel wardrobe, pastel home decor!

In honor of spring, I thought I would revamp my gorgeous book covers and phenomenal plots list with a spring edition.

The Kiss Quotient is a fake dating classic and should be your next read

After finishing the Love Hypothesis, I decided to reread the Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, and I realized I do not have a review for it on my blog. I don’t know why, when it is one of my favorite romance novels!

If you loved Ali Hazelwood’s The Love Hypothesis, but you felt like it lacked steamy scenes, you’ll love the Kiss Quotient. It has a swoon-worthy and patient male lead and intelligent and kind-hearted heroine. Did I mention this is book one in a series?

The Love Hypothesis

The Love Hypothesis was all over my insta feed, youtube, and even my friends were sending me Tik toks praising this book. Fake-dating, tall and small, grumpy and sunshine pair, it has everything I love in the book. But I had to wait a few months to get the book from my public library.

The Love Hypothesis is Ali Hazelwood’s debut novel, and it features fake dating, a STEM academic setting, chaotic besties, a demisexual protagonist, and lots of PSL runs.

Iron Widow

When I first heard about Zhao’s novel, it was through their youtube channel, I recommend it if you like video essays, and as a writer and book blogger myself, I was excited. What I expected: historical fiction inspired by the sole female emperor of China and a polyamorous relationship. What I got: science fiction dystopia, aliens, and a throuple. And I loved it.

I also would like to thank Netgalley for providing me a copy of Iron Widow to review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Could this book be smuttier than ACOTAR?

A Ruin of Roses by K.F. Breene is another beauty and the beast retelling but what sets this series apart from other retellings is the erotic, hilarious, and romantic setting of this world. Plus, the heroine Finley does not hesitate to step on a few toes especially if they belong to the arrogantly handsome Nyfain.

If you’re a fan of A Court of Thorns and Roses or smutty fairytales add this series to your list!

The Venatrix Chronicles deserves more hype

The Venatrix Chronicles by Sylvia Mercedes, is an imaginative fantasy series that flirts with the idea of a villain origin story. It has an enemies to lovers theme as well as a stubborn and stabby female lead and biracial love interest. The series spans seven novels, and its fantastical world is so grand it’s an easy series to get lost in.

This series is available to read for free with an kindle unlimited subscription.
