My most anticipated reads of 2023

Hi book lovers 2023 has some amazing books set to publish this year. I know what youre thinking, Gaby it’s May shouldn’t you have posted this article in January?

Yes, that would have been a great idea but as the year goes on there are more and more novels that I learn about and that I decide to add to my tbr. So, I feel like a middle of the year anticipated reads works better for me.

Some on this list are already out but I haven’t read them yet so I am counting them.

My top 7 Spring books for 2023

Hey book lovers!

March has been a tough month for me and I’ve struggled to read. Partly due to stress and partly due to the fact that fanfictions are bringing me great comfort during this time. But how are you, reader?

I wanted to start April off with a celebration of spring! In the past I’ve compiled a list of great books to read during the pastel season otherwise known as spring. The novels on the list are not necessarily set in spring but their tone, theme, and covers give spring vibes! And that’s good enough for me!

Romance Recs for the perfect Valentine’s Day!

Welcome Back to blog! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I have compiled a list of the perfect romance novels to read this Valentine’s Day. My list is made up of romance novels I’ve read this past year but feel free to recommend me some more in the comments. I read romance novels year-round and I am open to genres.

Please Note: There are some HarperCollins novels on this list. I have included links to read up on the Union’s fight for a livable wage. As of February 9th, the Union has reached a tentative agreement with the company but asks readers to continue holding the line.

Five Winter themed novels to add to your tbr

As if you didn’t need more novels to add to your shopping cart well here, I am *whispers* the menace. I have the perfect romance recommendations to cuddle with next to fireplace while sipping on hot chocolate. And don’t worry this list won’t just be Christmas romance novels, although those are lovely, the books on the list today are novels that take place during the wintertime or give winter vibes.

Why Alex and Darlington are getting married in Hell (A Ninth House Essay)

I reviewed Ninth House a few years ago (you can read my thoughts here) but decided to reread the novel last fall. It was such an immersive experience! However, while reviewing my previous post, I realized that I made a grievous error. In my previous review, I mentioned that Darlington is “the nerdy gentleman of Ninth House” and that he and Alex “ have no business being together romantically.”

But I was wrong. So very wrong. Alex and Darlington are deeply in love with each other. They yearn for each other on a Victorian level. Additionally, they are also both murderers who deserve each other.

What I learned from a year of reading vampire books

Hello Book lovers, and Happy spooky season. If you’re not a big fan of all things spooky- but you enjoy fantasy and perhaps paranormal romances, then I have a treat for you today. After reading Rebekah Weatherspoon’s Better Off Red and its sequels in 2021, I was blown away by all the diverse vampires in that universe.

This set me off into a quest to read more vampire novels. And I’ve noticed some similarities across the genre. One of the first things I connected across all novels is that vampires are sexy.

2022 Latinx Tbr

Every year I share novels I want to read during Latinx heritage month (also known as Hispanic Heritage Month) even though I read novels by Latine authors year-round, I often save some for this month-long celebration.

You might have noticed my previous Latinx tbr for the past two years always feature Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno Garcia, and this year is no different friends. But this year, I want to get serious and finally sit down and read this novel!

Books with Pastels covers that are perfect for Spring

Happy Spring for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere! Spring is the perfect season for those of us who crave picnics in the park and the sound of chirping friends. If you are like me, the thing you look forward to the most during spring is the pastels! Pastel eggs, pastel wardrobe, pastel home decor!

Photo was taken on my animal crossing Island last spring

In honor of spring, I thought I would revamp my gorgeous book covers and phenomenal plots list with a spring edition.
