Ali Hazelwood is the queen of lighthearted, feel-good Stem Rom-Coms! And she rolled out another five-star read-Love on the Brain. Love on the Brain is Hazelwood’s sophomore novel, and it’s just as well paced and hilariously cute as her debut The Love Hypothesis. If you love cute contemporary featuring a pair of idiots in love, you’ll love this one.

Hello readers, whoa-it’s been a while-I’ve missed coming onto this space to blog and interact with and getting to spill my thoughts onto the page. Although I haven’t been actively posting on this blog, I have still thought about it, plotted it, dreamed about it. Life has been hard this past year. If you want to hear more from where I’ve been stick around till the end, but for now, I am back with 13 fantastic books I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this year.

Feliz dia de Herencia Latina! Happy Latine/x Heritage month!
Latinx Heritage Month, also known as Hispanic heritage Month, celebrates the independence and culture of Latin American countries. Latine heritage month began in 1968 as a weeklong celebration under President Johnson. Then in 1988 President Reagan established “Hispanic Heritage” month beginning September 15 and ending October 15th. But why does this celebration begin in the middle of the month? September 15th is the day multiple latin countries such as: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua celebrate their independence!
While some prefer to call this celebration Hispanic Heritage Month and others prefer Latinx/e heritage month to encompass the indigenous communities, this month-long celebration is a great time to educate yourself on Latin history and to pick up novels by some fabulous authors.
Without further ado, here are the books I’ll be reading this month. If you would like more recommendations, check out my recs from previous years.

Hello book lovers and Reylo Rats! I’ve noticed a very particular pattern in my reading this year and a pattern in books published thus far! My latest read just so happened to be Thea Guanzon’s the Hurricane Wars-out this October- which also has fanfiction origins. The trend is Reylo, also known as the chaotic pairing of Rey and Kylo Ren from the sequel Star Wars films. Given the popularity of this pairing online, it’s only natural that many authors took inspiration from their dynamic and later published original works of fiction.
The most famous of these novels is none other than Ali Hazelwood’s, The Love Hypothesis. A novel I simply adored! Although there are many novels with links to Reylo, there are also novels that give off that vibe. Which is what my list consist of! Some of these pairings give off that enemies to lovers vibe, while others feature a love interest who resembles Adam Driver.

Hey book lovers! Where do you go when you’re looking for book recommendations? Booktok, Instagram, maybe Twitter? Any book recommendation will be a hit or a miss, but personally for me, booktok has given me a lot of misses, so when I saw Fourth Wing trending, I was rightfully hesitant.
Foruth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is everywhere from book collectors hunting down the special editions with dragons sprayed on the edges of the page to book reviewers sharing their favorite moments from the novel. I thought surely this book cannot be that great, but I was wrong! Yes, the hype is true!! I am so happy that the novel was not only entertaining to read, but also featured an exciting world to set foot into.
Fourth Wing is an enemies-to-lovers romance set in a war college with characters in their early 20s and students bound and bonded to dragons! No, this is not a monster romance, although if you’re looking for a dragon lover book series, may I suggest my checking out my review of A Ruin of Roses by K.F Breene.

Welcome back book lovers! Now I know I have promised you the rest of my reviews for the Lunar Chronicles, but I needed to squeeze in my review for Disenchanted first. I will have my review of Cress up next Monday.
Disenchanted is hailed as the Princess Bride meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but oh, how this book took me on an adventure. Disenchanted is originally a young adult, but the author has rereleased it as adult and is planning to keep the series adult moving forward. I read the revised new adult version which does contain sexual content and mature themes.
This Breton inspired novel is set in the 1500s and has a rebel princess and a cursed vampire. And there’s the personal fave “oh no, there’s only one-bed trope.” Disenchanted is delectable, and I loved the character development at the end.
Disclaimer: First, I would like to thank Brianna for reaching out and providing me with a copy of Disenchanted and for being a fan of Living in Libros. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.

2022 has been quite a year. There have been moments of utter bliss as complete sadness. But I am grateful that this year has brought me. Now onto the books. At the end of each year, I love to look back at all the books I’ve read and share my favorite reads of the year.
This year I’ve read a little out of my comfort zone and dipped my toes into horror! And I’ve also decided that the friends-to-lovers trope isn’t so bad.
Please note some of the novels on this list are published by Harper Collins and their employees have been on strike since November 10. As a book reviewer I fully support the strike, but they’ve asked readers not to review any books published by HarperCollins at this time. Although I’ve reviewed some of these books before the strike, I will not be restating my thoughts now. You can read more about the union’s efforts to secure fair wages and donate to the strike fund or follow their Instagram page.

Hello Readers!
Due to some Veterinary issues involving my dog Mimosa, I was not able to complete a video review for Ruin and Rising this week. But don’t worry! I shall not leave you without a blog post this today.
Today, I wanted to share with you my favorite books with aesthetically pleasing covers. Pretty covers give me the urge to impulse buy and never look back! However, beautiful book covers with interesting plots make me want to keep them on my shelf forever.
Don’t worry this is just part one of my list. I hope to add more books in the future.

If you follow me on IG, you got to see me work on some Halloween PJ shorts and scrunchies. Since I haven’t been doing much reading, I thought I share with my readers some perfect books, movies, and podcasts to get into the Halloween spirit.
