K-dramas for bookish babes!

Hello book nerds!

In today’s post, I want to give some K-drama recs for book lovers. Korean dramas are television series produced in Korea, and they range from a variety of genres such as romance, crime, melodrama, or science fiction. I enjoy the romance ones.

 If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m either finishing a K-drama or starting a new one.  If you’re new to K-dramas, or just curious about all the hype, I hope you find this list helpful.

 I have been watching K-dramas since high school, so I like to think I have a vast knowledge when it comes to recommending them lol.

But I have gotten a couple of DMs asking for K-drama recs! And I thought, hey, why don’t I step up my game and post what K-dramas I think readers would like based on their favorite books!

Cinderella and the Four Knights

The protagonist, Eun Han-Won, is saving up money for university and for her mother’s burial services. One day she meets Kang Hyun-Min, who promises her enough money for both of those things if she pretends to be his girlfriend for one night. However, things do not go as planned, but she does catch the eye of Hyun-Min’s grandfather, who only wishes his grandsons would get along. Grandpa Kang then hires Han-Won to live in a house with all his grandsons and help them become a family. Han-Won is determined to get the cousins to form relationships with each other, but she doesn’t expect to fall in love with one of them.

Geum Jan-Di saves a student from committing suicide and wins a scholarship to a prestigious private school. On Jan-Di’s first day, she catches the eye of the school hottest bad boys known collectively as F4. Koo Jun-Pyo, the leader, takes an interest in Jan-Di, but she isn’t looking to date the school’s baddie. Despite the two becoming instant enemies, their relationship eventually evolves into a wild romance.

Hotel del luna

Jang Man-Wol is the owner of Hotel del Luna, a place where ghosts can unwind and relax before heading off into the afterlife. Koo Chan-Sung works as an assistant manager in a prestigious hotel, but as a child, his father promised Jang Man-Wol that his son would become Hotel Del Luna’s human manager. When Jang Man-Wol finally comes to recruit Koo Chan-Sung, he refuses to work for her. However, he reconsiders when Jang Man-Wol gives him the gift to see spirits.

Goblin/ Guardian: The Lonely and Great God

Kim Shin is cursed to live out an immortal life as a Goblin, and he waits patiently for the day to meet the person who can free him from his curse. Ji Eun-Tak has always been able to see ghosts, but lately, they’ve all been whispering about the Goblin’s bride. Later, Kim Shin reveals to Ji Eun-Tak that she will break his curse.

This K-drama is interesting, but what captivated my attention more than the Goblin and his bride were the second leads, a second romantic pairing common in most dramas. The Goblin’s roommate is a grim reaper and he falls in love with a chicken shop owner. This couple butts heads but the socially awkward grim reaper is sure to make you fall in love with this drama.

Bride of the Water God or The Bride of Habaek

Habaek will become the next ruler of the gods, but first, he must take a trip to earth to retrieve the sacred stones. While there, he comes across Yoo So-A, whose ancestors have vowed to serve the gods. Yoo So-A doesn’t have time to pamper a god but the two grow closer every day, and feelings blossom.
