Hi book lovers and romance babes! Today, I have another Reylo fanfic turned romance novel to review today! Would I say it’s become a mission of mine to read published fanfiction from the Reylo fandom? Unintentionally yes! I am picking up the ones that look interesting! With Ali Hazelwood’s debut, the Love Hypothesis, an influx of fanfictions have been reworked and published as novels and honestly good for the writers.

That said, if you see me reading more of these novels after I said it wasn’t my new mission-shhhh. I’m just following the vibes.

Demons and Witches falling in love go together like chocolate and milk! Seriously this is a popular pairing in romance novels, and I enjoy it. But what sets A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon apart from the rest? The all-powerful witch in this story sucks at casting spells and excels at caring for plants. Not to mention this novel is set in a small town full of supernatural creatures. I don’t know about you book besties, but that sounds so cute.

The Heart Principal: Tackling Grief and Romance

Hey book lovers!

This novel has been on my TBR since its announcement. But the pandemic made me forget some of that excitement, and so many releases from then have slipped my mind that I needed to finish the last book in this beautiful series.

Like previous novels, The Heart Principle centers around a protagonist on the autism spectrum and follows their adventure into romance. But what I like about this series is that it follows a family, and they make cameos in each other’s stories.

The initial two novels in this series lean more towards romance while also tackling some serious topics. But The Heart Principal-is the opposite. It’s an enjoyable read, but it’s heavier than the initial novels.

Why is this book so good?! Tikok did not lie about Fourth Wing!

Hey book lovers! Where do you go when you’re looking for book recommendations? Booktok, Instagram, maybe Twitter? Any book recommendation will be a hit or a miss, but personally for me, booktok has given me a lot of misses, so when I saw Fourth Wing trending, I was rightfully hesitant.

Foruth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is everywhere from book collectors hunting down the special editions with dragons sprayed on the edges of the page to book reviewers sharing their favorite moments from the novel. I thought surely this book cannot be that great, but I was wrong! Yes, the hype is true!! I am so happy that the novel was not only entertaining to read, but also featured an exciting world to set foot into.

Fourth Wing is an enemies-to-lovers romance set in a war college with characters in their early 20s and students bound and bonded to dragons! No, this is not a monster romance, although if you’re looking for a dragon lover book series, may I suggest my checking out my review of A Ruin of Roses by K.F Breene.

Read the Grim Reaper’s Lawyer now!

The Grim Reaper’s lawyer by Mea Monique was recommended to me by Sciondukes on tiktok (check them out!). And whoa, this was such a cool and entertaining read. This book has some spicy scenes so if thats not your thing I have some great YA recommendations you can check out.

The author’s a lawyer herself, and it makes the world of this novel more real. I really liked the take of a corporate underworld, and the romance aspect of this story is delicious. I love books that are great at balancing the romance and the plot, which I believe this novel does well.

Puerto Rican Elves?! The Last Sunrise in Eterna slayed!

Book babes and Fantasy folks know this blog loves a good fae and elf story. Last year, when Amparo Ortiz announced her next novel, Last Sunrise in Eterna, where a goth girl falls for a sunshine elf prince in Puerto Rico while participating in an magical exchange program, I knew I had to read it.

And because Ortiz’s, The Blazewrath Games and the Dragonblood Ring were a great duology, I was super pumped for this book. And when I saw the cover for it I was sold.

Winter’s the thrilling end and the beginning of an intergalactic love affair!

All of our favorite characters are back in this epic conclusion to the Lunar chronicles. And I am super excited for readers to read Winter simply to see her character! Winter’s teased in Cress, but in this novel she gets the chance to shine! And in my opinion Winter makes this book! I would read more books with a protagonist like her.

Why Disenchanted should be your next cozy dark fantasy!

Welcome back book lovers! Now I know I have promised you the rest of my reviews for the Lunar Chronicles, but I needed to squeeze in my review for Disenchanted first. I will have my review of Cress up next Monday.

Disenchanted is hailed as the Princess Bride meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but oh, how this book took me on an adventure. Disenchanted is originally a young adult, but the author has rereleased it as adult and is planning to keep the series adult moving forward. I read the revised new adult version which does contain sexual content and mature themes.

This Breton inspired novel is set in the 1500s and has a rebel princess and a cursed vampire. And there’s the personal fave “oh no, there’s only one-bed trope.” Disenchanted is delectable, and I loved the character development at the end.
