Witchlings’ a whimsical adventure that’s perfect for everyone

Hi book lovers! I hope you’re in a whimsical mood today because I have an enchanting book to review! If you follow my Instagram, you probably saw how much I enjoyed this book, but now I’ll share all of my thoughts!

I received the opportunity to review Witchlings by Claribel Ortega in late March thanks to Colored pages blog tours, scholastic, and Claribel Ortega.

Witchlings is a fantasy, magical, witch-infused middle-grade book. Author Claribel Ortega is a former reporter and now writes fantasy books inspired by her Dominican heritage. You might have heard of her debut novel, Ghost Squad.

Iron Widow

When I first heard about Zhao’s novel, it was through their youtube channel, I recommend it if you like video essays, and as a writer and book blogger myself, I was excited. What I expected: historical fiction inspired by the sole female emperor of China and a polyamorous relationship. What I got: science fiction dystopia, aliens, and a throuple. And I loved it.

I also would like to thank Netgalley for providing me a copy of Iron Widow to review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Could this book be smuttier than ACOTAR?

A Ruin of Roses by K.F. Breene is another beauty and the beast retelling but what sets this series apart from other retellings is the erotic, hilarious, and romantic setting of this world. Plus, the heroine Finley does not hesitate to step on a few toes especially if they belong to the arrogantly handsome Nyfain.

If you’re a fan of A Court of Thorns and Roses or smutty fairytales add this series to your list!

My mind was feeling a bit stormy and this reset was much needed. But my mind has calmed and posts should resume to normal. Please enjoy this review of Bridge Kingdom

Everyone knows I love a story with enemies to lovers but what is a little bit less known is that I adore a story with Enemies to lovers combined with an arranged marriage. So when I discovered Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L Jensen, I knew I hit the jackpot.

I am in love with Zoraida Córdova’s Incendiary!

Zoraida Córdova’s Incendiary holds a special place in my heart because she personally wanted to send advanced reader’s copies of this book to Latinx readers and reviewers. The catch, Córdova had one copy, so the chosen readers would have to take turns sharing. Ultimately, I was not chosen, but Zoriada did write me a letter thanking me for signing up and sent me a bookplate. Which was very nice of her!

Years later, I finally sat down to read this book, and I felt a little disappointed there was not an instant connection.

And then I got to the part where Ren witnesses Dez’s decapitation, and she turns into a ball of anger and revenge. Apparently, I just needed a bit of violence to appreciate the story
